Flowers in the Attic as read by serial killer Ed Kemper

This haunting book just got a lot more chilling!

Being a person of somewhat macabre tastes, I’ve always been fascinated by true crime. It seems I’m not the only one after AtticSecrets member, Holli Sari Braddock posted in group an interesting article about prisoners who had read audio books as part of a project to help visually impaired people.

Whilst I had heard of this, I hadn’t heard that notorious serial killer Ed Kemper had actually recorded, as part of this project, both Flowers in the Attic and Petals on the Wind !

For those of you who have not heard of Ed Kemper, Wikipedia states the following :

Serial Killer Ed Kemper

Edmund Emil Kemper III is an American serial killer, serial rapist, cannibal, and necrophile who murdered ten people, including his paternal grandparents and mother. He is noted for his height of 6 feet 9 inches, and for his high intellect, possessing an IQ of 145

Of course, I just had to track this recording down out of morbid curiosity and to be honest, I found it so chilling and creepy, knowing his specific crimes, I couldn’t actually get past his first line.

If you’re feeling brave, then check out the recording of Flowers in the Attic on Spotify.

Again, thanks to Holli for this great find!
